Hello, I'm Gallia Thomson, artist and owner of The Studio Collective! My name, an Italian last name from my grandmother, refers to the Gaul region of Italy and France. Born and raised in North Vancouver, I later moved to Surrey. Just before the COVID-19 health emergency, my husband and I welcomed our daughter, Teagan, into the world. During this time, we quickly pivoted and started our first business venture, HVAC Strong Mechanical, which eventually led me to discover my passion for photography.
In 2021, tired of the rat race, we made an exciting (and scary) move and bought a house sight unseen in Prince George, officially relocating in March 2022. When I first moved to Prince George, I often found myself wishing for a rentable space that I could use as a photographer. I felt frustrated that I never had the comfort of knowing there was a beautifully curated location available whenever I needed it. This desire inspired me to create The Studio Collective, a place where community and creativity can thrive together.
Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time weight lifting, cuddling our cat Leni and taking long walks in the beautiful nature that surrounds our home.

SO WHY IS THE STUDIO A “COLLECTIVE”?
When I first started to dream of The Studio, I knew I wanted it to be a space that could become a hub for the vast network of creatives, entrepreneurs, and their clients in Prince George. Adding the word "Collective" seemed like a natural choice to showcase The Studio’s intense desire to cultivate connection and share the common objective of growing a community within a beautiful space. My vision was to create not just a functional studio, but a welcoming environment where ideas could flourish, collaborations could thrive, and everyone could feel inspired and supported. The Studio Collective stands as a testament to this dream, offering a unique and versatile space that fosters creativity, innovation, and a sense of belonging for all who enter.
